I'm pretty new to digital painting, but wanted to say 'hi' and say that I plan to join this workshop. I hope to get something posted in the next couple of days.

Now I just have to decide which piece to do!

I think I might have overextended myself a little here, but now that I've started I'm going to do my first attempt at a large-scale oil painting

this is the charcoal sketch on canvas so far (I'm still adjusting stuff here and there, but I figure I can probably correct most mistakes in the actual paint process)

90cmx120cm

Couldn't resist giving this one a go ... a very rough blocked-in start in PS:

Rebecca, Glenn

you are right! The challenge will be over in a few days.

I had been thinking about my new drawing schedule, because I will have worked through all the previous points of my last schedule and I actually could only think of one item for the list and that was: mastercopies.
However, I collected some ninety to one hundred plates mostly by Da Vinci whiich I intend to copy over the following weeks, so I was a bit reluctant to drift from this goal by planning on joining this OFDW.

But then I noticed I would be doing mastercopies in here, too! I would still be adhering to the plan...

So, I am all settled. I will join in then...

when the challenge is over...

Dan its looking great.
Martin, I see you are juggling your time real good. (that load balancing we talked about °
Mr. Mu, glad you could join this one.
This is my first take on this piece. This is charcoal on 50X70CM charcoal paper.
My next step is to transfer it to canvas and proceed with the oil painting. I am also tempted to do this digital. So I'll think about it and see how I feel tomorrow.

Hey Enrique, since I see you here I have a question. I am painting this in oil and the pallette asks for 'Van Dyke Brown'. I dont have a tube of paint called that. Do you know what I can use to substitute? Thanks.

Talking

Hello Queen, maybe you should try to mix your palette, by mixing some Red Ochre, Yellow Ochre Light and Ivory Black (the mixture should have an olive hue very close to the brown gamma), and then applying some redish color like in order to create a "pardo" hue, (some kind of brown color, but more like the Van dyke), I think that would be my suggest, excuse if my color names, are not so clear, I dont know them by the english names , hope this helps, really look for your progress.

Edit: Just back from internet, the name of the redish color is Red Ochre, I think you should add a little more, when you have the olive hue,

Here is some of my progress, the lineart, i did this with a grids help, hope u like it.
