Great beginning fooxoo, I normally work in pencil and plan on starting this one in pencil on a 24 X 36 tonight. If everything goes well, I just might use watercolor pencils to finish it off.

Gees, everyone is off to a great start. I am just getting off work so I will go home now and play catch up!

See y'all in the morning!

Hi Rebecca and Everyone
Step #1 Used broad tinting brush, Painter 9
Very quick broad strokes, flowing with motion and emotion
Just trying to get a oneness that is full of energy and
true to the composition
Motion, emotion, oneness, energy
These are the most important aspects of this painting and are its nature or essence.
for lack of better words.
Its these aspects that make it such a powerfull piece, I think.
If I can capture those aspects right from the start, they will always be there
in the underpainting and will shine through in the finished painting.
Hopefully
Step #2 will be to refine and clarify forms without losing the above-mentioned
key or base elements, hopefully
Take Care
Glenn

Can you post the link here, and if it's cool I'll add it to the first post?

Rebecca, for your consideration : http://home.att.net/~hoo10/Bouguereau/lavague.jpg.

Pinoy McGee,

I have that image saved to my hd for a future OFDW as well ~ the thing is, I don't want to use too many of these beautiful images in any one OFDW, as then people won't have time to work on both, when they really might want to ~ and I don't want to have a big backlog of repeating images throughout the OFDWs. I totally agree with you that this is a beautiful image, which is why I'd like to save it for later, when we can all work on it together...well, what does everyone else think?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Just a quick analysis... just watch the side of the victim's head. You're showing a little more of that area than in the reference. See how his nose obscures most of his left side?

I know you haven't painted that bit yet, I just thought I'd point it out in passing. You're probably WAY ahead of me anyway.
