Thanks Rebecca.

If you can send me the link to an image off of artrenewal.org (the hi~res version) I'll take a look at it. I think it might be nice though, since it's such a big undertaking, to focus on the same painting all together here...but I really see no problem so long as the image is not scanned from a book.

Can you post the link here, and if it's cool I'll add it to the first post?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Everyone is so enthusiastic! I expect to see alot of great work!

First WIP-image from me, rough as hell though
Basicly only the form is there (and ofcourse I'm getting into detailing waaay to early)
Anatomy is off in certain places too. But I'm getting there.

A quick outline to start with Looking forward to adding some colours, I spent quite a while looking at the very nice colours used on the skin in the Bourguereau - almost luminous. Can't wait to get started on those...wheep ^^!

Ok,cause I REALLY like this painting, and reading the acutal literary work was not that bad and it was quite interesting, I am trying to do this one too :P In pencil. This is on A3 size page, this basic outline took about 2 hours to do. Sorry for the bad scan, I had to stitch it as itwontfiton the scanner, and the pencil lines are very light...

Amazing painting.

Can't wait to have you on board!

Quote: Originally posted by Vizon: I don't like how the colors are bleeding all over the place, but I console myself by remembering that it's still not done and I'll make it more perfect when I get to the details. Began with my third charcoal sketch, going to add in the other people/creatures later. I'm posting now because I'm about dead on my feet and I probably won't be painting on this again for a couple days.

Great to see you joining in! Looking forward to seeing your piece develop. Don't worry, all pieces start out this way ~ we've got at least 3weeks to refine!

Heh...

I've just received notice that the correct title in French should be:

"Dante et virgile aux enfers"

Lemog, how could you not tell me!

Cheers,
