Heya

This took about 2 hours in painter. I'm still trying to learn how to paint with a tablet, especially the workflow and brushes to use.

I've just discovered this OFDW, what a great idea!

Great work guys. Kimasamune great job on the slight foreshortening on the bent left leg. It has been driving me crazy.

Without any further ado, here is my gesture sketch. I'll be adding values and tones tonight when I get home from work.

Sketch done with Wacom in Photoshop CS2

Good to see more work! Sorry, my comments are going to be kind of spare for this Workshop since I am in the last 2 weeks of the CGWorkshop ~ but I'm definitely excited to see everyone's participation!

Slux,
Looks like you're working hard as usual. Glad to see you here!

Vidar3d,

Nice start ~ do you plan to shade this piece?

Mr. Mu,

Don't back out on us now! Everyone here is supportive, believe me.

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

I won't ... if your remark is because of my "edited...forget it" - I could not the see the sketch of the previous poster and said so, but for some strange reason when I watched the page shortly after it was there and then I edited out the text.

I have a question, though: it says figure drawing and I wonder wether my painting the whole thing was a bit too much?
I don't have a scanner and use artweaver the pencils of which I am not too comfortable with, but in case I overdid it I would switch to those tools.

Mr. Mu,

Gotcha, thanks! As to painting, that's totally fine, we've even had one person do a 3D model! So no worries, you are free to use whichever medium you choose.

SaraD,

WOW! You are incredibly fast! This is beautiful...very nice work. Are you planning to paint any of the other figures? That would be awesome!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Question

IŽve started one of the others as well, but I have a question - since I only have a restricted amount of bites to upload, is it OK if I start to link to my own webpage instead of uploading the images?

Just a quick update as to my progress. Trying to incorporate some of the elements from the various shading tutorials Rebeccak has posted. More to come.
