WIP - Line Sketch

Hello,

Here's a line sketch I laid out extending from the original plate. I layer-masked the background part of the original plate and extended it up and out a bit to see more of the city. I also wanted to keep the integrity of the original plate in tact and not mess with it too much. Hope this works so far. I am working on a rough color sketch and will post it soon.

Here's the line sketch --

This really has a potential. but it will be a hell lot of work. having 3d renders would help you render a more accurate, fast and realistic result than just painting and photomanipulating everything most especially on the fg. goodluck

Awesome start!

Someone who is not afraid of work for the sake of imagination. Do it up however you want to. Can't wait to see more.

Like Robert DeNiro said in "Heat" (My favorite film next to Aliens) "The reward is worth the stretch."

Thanks :-)

WIP - Color Sketch

Here is a color sketch I painted over the line sketch. I will add more detail to the foreground. As for now I wanted to post the general idea up. I kept the steampunk theme in mind while designing the building elements as well as the bridge. I will also add a couple parked vehicles in the scene as well. I will eventually produce 3D models of majority of the middle-foreground elements. In the meantime this is what the general look will be.

Loving the desaturated green/orange earthen tones in this color sketch...really solid work in this stage. I think the far back mountain could use some more interest though to break up the left side silhouette edge of the mountain peaks. Also defining the gorge down in the middle vanishing point more clearly. Very cool!!

Very cool! I like the narrow alleyway feel you've achieved by keeping the street of the original plate. Yet you've succeeded in making an expansive scene to be drawn into with your background!
