Wow...love the concept! I had a similar idea in mind but I just didn't know how to give it a story behind the image...if you know what I mean. Seems that you've succeeded in that area with your concept. Can't wait to see your progress.

yep, great concept , although i dunno how much of the cave you ought to see because you're losing important composition space with a rock

oh and i got another ideea, how about bring in the cave opening some shore lines so that you can respect the thing about atmospheric haze ?

Modeling: First ruff model



Here's the first character ruffed out. I've decided to model the 3 characters to this quality and then fine tune as I have time. In the end I expect to have more fine details etc.
Hope you like the style so far.

Thanks for all the comments and I do agree the ears are a bit big. I'm currently working on the female character and hope to have something worth critiquing this weekend.
