Concept Sketch: The colours man

Took a break from modeling to do a quick sketch to get a feeling for colour and other elements in the scene that need to be added. All very rough atm I want the room to look very claustrophobic and full of hard edges to play off the oragnicness of Angus. I also wanted Angus to be bathed in blue light to emphasise his blue mood.

Wow wow wow! I love that lighting. So much more interesting that cookie cutter HDRI renders. Bravo!

Cool

The melted face is really nice. You have a good imagination ,modeling and color composition.

I'll follow this to the final.

Good luck!

awesome handlebar..love the lighting too, and the colouring of it.
I'd possibly think about cropping a bit off the left side of the pic (seems like a bit too much empty space there), and making the outbox higher or lower than his head(they're a bit too much the same size)

totally brilliant and original!

That is my office! Nice start on the lighting it looks great. I agree with Shakes the composition feels a little out of balance, maybe add a couple inches more scene on the right? Anyway you got a good one going.

Love where this is going. Very nice atmosphere with that colorz. Unsymetrical modeling is so powerfull! Keep it up Good luck.

just idea: what about to add some weird angle / perspective for the office. You know, something what emphasize claustrophobic mood.

That lighting is looking really good. I like the contrast in colors.
Your modeling always blows me away. I've had days where I felt like that.

Concept Sketch: Stark reality

This is another idea i had for the feel of the picture. More realistic in aproach. I want Angus dressed in a realy bad early 70's jacket, with maybe a purple tie. The skin will be photorealistic, would appreciate your thoughts. Nothing is unwrapped or textured yet, its just a guide for me.

Would like a little poll if you would be so kind, what do you prefer, colourful and moody or stark and realistic, i like em both and just can't make up my mind. The stark version will give me a better shot at some cool photorealistic skin and i kinda prefer the comic value of it.

kfc Thanks for lookin in

miketche Always a pleasure to here from you Mike, thanks for the kind words.

Oweron Thanks for the heads up, i'm a big fan of your work

I miss the dramatic lighting, I think it gave the image a much more ominous feeling. Is this latest render more like what you had in mind?

I agree with Ray here - the previous lighting had a great mood ... would also look very cool with the realistic texturing. Well, I'm sure you nail it
