Great idea How about a massive 70ies office block far off in the distance or something. (Contrast of cozy home life vs stressfull office job)

Modeling: Off to work

For lack of a better description, I'll call these little people "Teenywinks". I know they are a bit different than my sketch, but I like to keep things loose in my workflow to allow for creativity and to make changes and adjustments as I go along.
I find that I have a better sense of how the charactors should look as I model rather than sticking hard and fast to the original sketch.

Thanks man. Even if I don't come in at 8th place, I'm still having a blast modeling these things.

Modeling: grandma teenywink

Well here's grandma teenywink. Now on to grandpa.
I just hope to God I'm able to render this thing when I'm done. This model took forever and with a final render size of 3000 pixles at 300 dpi, I'll need an entire month just to do that.

Thanks guys ( and gals ), I appreciate that.
I think that I may have made the feet a little too big though. Grandpa is really going to have to lean over to smooch grandma with those big pontoons getting in the way.

Modeling: grandpa teenywink

Well I've got the lower base mesh modeled.
Next step is to detail the mesh then texture it.

Coming from an award winner, now that's a compliment. Thanks!

It's fun to see what everyone else is doing and how each idea is slowly evolving and coming together.
Lots of talent around here.
