Hi Henrik

IŽll be coming around. Down here with a bad case of the flu
so...as soon as IŽve recovered from that...IŽll be right on it.

Concept Sketch: The path to the Journey

This is my little cartoon girlie about to enter the biggest adventure of her lifetime. Her uncle has vanished mysteriously and she is determined to find out what happened to him. A very dangerous adventure awaits our young and brave little hero.

Very promising concept, indeed!!! The airship could be awesome...

The only thing I miss, is facial expression...but it IS hard to both see where he is heading, and his face at the same time...unless he turns his head...

Kragh>> your right, that is the one of the main problems to solve in this challenge. To both get the characters expressions but also the epic tale told in the landscape.
I like the cartoonish style even tho it is very mario brothers
Looking forward to see the progress.

Thanks everyone!

@Martin - thank you Can't escape...must...resist.

@Mumle - Yeah, but there's something scary about that...now isn't there?

@Kragh - Thanks , Yeah - I reckon you're right about that, I was thinking about
turning the characters face around, and moving the scene 30 degrees towards the camera
(just to picture it) to get the facial expression of "awe" in her face. On the other hand...
...it's also possible to display such "awe" with bodylanguage and let the scene tell that
story as well, actually..that's probably even trickier. Interesting...

@samking21 - Thank you.

@jais - thanks. Yeah...kind of "cute" proportion of a child with short legs, kind of my speciality
I guess . And true...this challenge is indeed a challenge!

Sweet drawing as usual.

Very Tommish

As I see it, there is two ways to translate this to 3d.š

One is the child-friendly, with a lot of power on the colors.
Give it a naive and light touch. I think you know what i'm think about.

The second one, is the one with some more "weight".
With some dark clouds in the background, and a "windy" weather (tell it on the trees and the shirt in the right side).
The colors would be a bit more saturated.

Well that's my interpretation. Just to give you some ideas.

This is a really cool concept! Very nice drawing too! My only suggestion is that you work on the pose a bit more since its the primary way the character is expressing himself. Your limited by not seeing his face, but body posture could work. Perhaps a body expression of fear or awe would work nicely.

To express the dangers in her body posture is a good idea. But I think the colours should be very moody as well. Right now we can't really see any dangers in the scene. Actually I think the scene looks very happy right now.

Really excellent concept and different from much of the other stuff you see. The overall composition is good and the airship is a nice touch. Looking forward to seeing more.

Modeling: Yahi tournaround sheet

Here's the main character: Yahi. She's now fully poseable and ready to take on the adventure.
