Shading (Textured and lit): A little surfacing but still more modelling to go.

Just a very basic surface setup. but he was getting very confusing in all grey. I endeavour to give him a backpack and shillaly on the weekend. After looking at my scene sketch I think that there is a lot more modelling to do. (inc the tree house) I shall soldier on.

Modeling: Gimble and Gear...

More weekend modelling (fitted around house renovation) he is still coming along slowly..
Hopefully I will have some more time this weekend to ramp it up a bit and finish the textures, and work on the house and forest.

I like your character. My only cirt would be about the upper part of the nose that could have a better integration with the whole head.

This is looking really good! I like the basic color layout for him too. Although he is a bit pale for his base. The modeling is top notch too! I can't wait to see it textured!

Cheers Womball!
I thought the same about the skin and he has been made darker.
I also wasnt too happy with the texture of the skin either.
Updates for texture and colour should be ready Monday.

Cute character and I like the details you worked on him ( the buckle, backpack and stuff) although I feel that the material could be more refined. It seems a little dimensionless with no texture, I mean, I feel maybe the lighting might also be enhanced. For all I know you're already working on it, and for basics that's not too bad. Good work so far.

More please?

Hi asbassie,
I agree with you 100%, and I am getting around to it...
Things are very busy at the moment, and I havent been able to play with the little guy for the last couple of days.
I will be finalising the texture and final details hopefully by this Monday.
Until the next post

Shading (Textured and lit): Gimble becomes a man!

A hair and texturing test.
Still has a way to go, but I am plodding along slowly.

Wonderful work Kieran, he is really looking great now
I love the subtle hair on his arms, it's a great touch.
Keep going dude, I can't wait for more updates.
The little dude rocks!

Wow! His eyes have great depth and teh overall texturing is really nice! The hair on his head though is a bit too uniform, could use some color variation. The skin looks just right, especially if it is lit interestingly in a scene. What a sad expression!

Thanks Womball and Womgoose,
The hair is a struggle, but I am trying not to focus too much on it at the moment, as it gets quite distracting, especially just trying to create the coarser hair for the sideburns and finer hair for the hair on his head.
Thanks again for dropping by.
Hopefully I will have him posed or his house built this weekend...
