Hola Albert, no havia vist la teva entrada, i em sap greu, perquè el teu treball és molt bo. El personatge que tens aquí és molt poderós. Ja estaré pendent del desenvolupament de la teva imatge. Salutacions!

Arrow Modeling: Modeling - color scheme test

Seeing so many nice replies today has reminded me to update the thread. I'm very bad at that...I never know when a new update is a good update...As you can see I practically almost finished the body and I've made a blockout for the terrain, as well as tested some color mood...

Thanks a lot everyone!

EDIT: the transparency maps are 50% shown because of a quick ambient occlusion layer, I will fix that in the end but right now it's much faster :) U can notice that in the small cloath that hangs from the waist belt

TONS of elaborate details, I love it.
Some small crits: The arms and head look too small proportionally.
At first glance I thought he was facing away from the camera, I think that impression comes from the shape of the armour around the neck-line. Normally the collar would dip down at the front; as it is it would get in the way if he tried to lean his head forwards. Somehow the arms look stuck-on; I don't get the impresion that they join up to the shoulders in an anatomically realistic way, perhaps again its related to the armour, looks like he might have difficulty with mobility of the shoulder as it is currently designed. Perhaps larger arm-holes?

Keep it up!

Modeling: Modeling - Pose

Here's a render of the almost finished model with the pose. Probably next details will be added eventually and I dont think I make another full body image of him again!

this is extremely good! very inspiring details -- from your attention to clothing design to secondary artifacts such as the forearm wraps, right shoulder shield, and belts. Would be interesting to see a wireframe, especially if you are using displacement maps. Also, where you are finding inspiration for this -- if you are using reference images or historic clothing types...

Best of luck!

gjpetch: thanks man. I agree with your crits about the head, it looks small, but with the helmet it looks so much bigger...that it gives me a right feeling in the final image. Also the fact that the body is proportionally a bit bigger than the head is already on my mind since the beggining...anyways, just wanted to say u're right and It's not very difficult to change it and I'll work hard to make my image looks good, and if this is what it needs to look good, I'll enlarge the head! About the armor, not giving him enough flexibility on the neck, I agree, but he doesnt actually move much...he's more like a "sauron" type of warrior, u know, much more powerful and protected than actually fast (ill make a subtle aura over him eventually). The arms issue makes sense, a slightly bigger hole is definitely in my TODO list now

tuck: thanks!

frag: thanks too, let's hope there is a final image!
gpepper: ur comment is really appreciated dude. And yes...zbrush...mmmhh I'm wondering if I could make the background completely rendered in zbrush!

m477: thanks man!

womgoose: well...I only remember I began by the times of 1000th post lol

oceanbluesky: Thanks for the good detailed comment. Well i didnt use any references of any kind for the details. I just got 1 image of an actual samurai suit to get a mind refreshing of what they looked like. I used to work on apocaliptic Jerusalem reliefs during some months at work, so I guess that I have them in my mind...I really love making reliefs and thinking about them, I make them everywhere I can, they take quite a lot but otherwise i wouldnt have so much fun!!

well, I got a new PC here where im staying so I guess I'll work faster 'cause the older one was so annoying, I could only make 1 render per MAX session 'cause it didnt have enough RAM

Concept Sketch: quick sketch for the horse

Hey, here comes a quick idea for the horse, proportions probably suck but I'll watch more about them when I'm with the actual model. I want to make a long legged horse and with long hair going through the armor, that can look good.

I'm sure the horse will turn out excellent, a daunting task perhaps after the detail in the last model! The horse will need to be powerful and loyal, I think a shire horse/back beauty hibrid perhaps? Can't wait to see him/her come together!

Wow! What a spectacular model! Although lighting wise you can't see that much of the details. You might want to use a strong rim light and a somewhat strong front light to bring out some of those details.
