Coloring WIP: Added the Soul

I've added in the Soul as it looks down at the journey it has to complete. Is the expression ok?

Coloring WIP: Added people for scale

I've added a few people along the path to give a sense of the scale and change the Soul's hair to clouds. Is it working?

Love ya idea to begin the journey. I think about some floating island that connected by the bridge like fantasy story, in each island have different stories and in the end there's separate way with many questions too. It's like the life that must involve with many stories many choice many question and many problem.

Both little soul will go from safely cloud direct route to learn more about the life in rocky split way but who knows the last deep inside? Even doesn't know the future, they must proceed whatever they choose, it's the life.

Ya works must proceed too, CHEERS!
(sorry for some broken eng tee hee.)

Thanks Skan

Thanks Skan, I'm not sure aboiut the Island as the spiral will continue way down to the bottom which will leave no room for the island. I may put in a ladder from a lower level to a higher one.

I think you have the idea of the story.

I like the look of your concept, it's going to be interesting to see how it develops.

Coloring WIP: The path continues

I've added a bit more of the path downwards. What do you think of the houses? Should they be facinfg straight on like the temple or are they ok?

The next bit will be to add more athmosphere and some depth of field.

Have you any crits for now?

hi ed
i think this one is going great youre doing very beatiful environental work, houses does not have to be straight like temple i think or it will be too much like a place designed for a computer game (which is not a bad thing in my opinion but you may not prefer it) but this way they look more natural.
the only think i dont like much in the picture is the babys head i think if you have expressed the soul with a more abstract thing it would be better in my opinion.
but overall very good work
keep it coming
my hunger for knowledge never ends!

Cool concept Ed...I'm really into it...very thought provoking. I'd consider orienting the houses around the center like the temple but really this is such a dynamic interesting image either way works. Looking forward to the final! Good luck

Thanks Guys

Thanks for the helpful comments guys...

individium Berkay, you are probably right about the Soul's face. I want to keep it human so people can easily recognise it and get the story easily. The story may be a bit of a challenge for some. I'll try and make it more subtle.

How is your vampire victim doing?

oceanbluesky Eric, I may change the houses later. There are other elements to go in which may cover them and I'll be makeing it a bit darker down there. I'm glad you like the concept.

I like your vehicle which came out of the clouds.

Good luck to us all

Coloring WIP: Added darker colour to give depth

I've finished the path to as far as the eye can see and added dark colours to give it depth. What do you think, is it working?

I'll get working on the Soul next.

I'd love to hear your comments.

Great work Ed...

Love the concept and the dynamics of the composition. I love wide angles and unusual perspectives, so like the spiral idea, looking down on buildings, etc.

The soul looks great - love the way you've painted the hair

Looking forward to the next update

Coloring WIP: Soul line up

I need your help in selecting a suitable Soul for the journey it is about to get sucked into. Do the clouds in the heads work ok and is the colouring right? Thanks for dropping by.

hey ed

i like the soul as it is, but maybe the more soul like transparency of the 4th fits it a bit more to emphaszize the feeling of weightlessness. at first i was really irrited while looking at your first page of the challenge why you have such a jolted perspective in your picture and numbers above the head but know i got it .

hopefully we will see this finished. cheers!

I liked the lighter colour in the spiral, but I like the addition of the clouds! I wish you had more stuff going on in the foreground, like maybe a gathering of souls looking down into the spiral?

Isn't the weather great today, by the way?
Old 05 May 2006   #45
Thanks Guys

Thanks Llynna... I only squashed the spiral so you'd see the Souls better. I like the expression on 3 - 'Oh my God what is that and where am I going?!?'. Lets see what other people say.

Theresa, great to have you back and thanks for dropping by. Back on the horizon of this pic in my mind there are a number of Souls looking down similar holes and about to get sucked in. The only trouble is I'm not sure how to show that. Any ideas?? By the way which Soul do you like?

And it was a lovely sunny day today too. (We don't see that much sun in Ireland so it is a big topic of conversation here)

PS. I'm working on putting in God Rays too!
