kanooshka - Jeremy in the first post all Challenges attach the image base of the camera position in shade / wireframe mode.
Examples:camera position in shade mode Lighting Challenge #20: The Shop Girls
In Lighting Challenge # 21: The Bedroom pictures there is not.
Can you attach/return in original forum the it or send me on my e-mail.
Thank you!

Continue research base lights and composition + add "garlands"-glow lights.

pankajkaintura43 you might want to try a large area light just below the interior lightbulbs...

Feedback =)

pankajkaintura: To light the merry go round you'll need lights from facing lots of different angles, what might do the trick for you is placing a few point lights underneath the roof.

genaf: Good work so far, make sure your lighting matches your backplate. As for the image you're looking for, I don't have the image, Jeremy might but I'm not sure.

punytjoshi: Interesting take on the scene. The balloons don't seem to be receiving any shadowing and don't match the lighting of the person on the bench. I'd expect warm light to be hitting them on the left side. and cool from the upper right.

brookselliott: Looking great! You may want to take a look at some photo references of balloons. Some transparency may help a little bit.

djprasun: Getting better. With the ferris wheel being so bright, I'd expect the reflection in the water to be nearly as bright. As for the boat I'd expect to see some light bouncing back towards the boat from what's coming through the portals.

halfPintMike: Good start. I'd suggest moving some models around for the composition. Maybe moving all the things in the background much closer to the merry-go-round. As for the lighting you may want to get some more directionality , the horses appear to be nearly as bright on the side as the top.

Voigg: I'll try to explain the glowing a little more. Are you using some sort of GI? How about depth maps? Take a look at the horses' stomachs. They're just as bright as the backs of the horses. Since you said your shadows are casting shadows I'd say this is either from depth mapped shadows being to soft or from using a GI solution. If using GI I'd suggest turning it off until you get your direct lighting exactly the way you want it.

Thanks kanooshka for the great challenge. This is what I have so far. C&C are welcome! I'm using 3ds max 2009 with mental ray.

@tuffmutt1: I love your carousel. The hourse materials is beautiful.
@djeanimation: The colors are working great! I feel there's a blur to everything and as a result, nothing really stands out from others in the scene
@neutrix: Love your dreamy colors. 2 of the balloons look more like chrome though
@brokselliott and @kanooshka: Can't wait to see more from you. The golden quality of the carousel is great! I just couldn't get the look right, but I'll keep trying.
@Tischenberg: The balloons look more like candies now. I'd think the more saturated color would happen around the edges rather than the center.

This is my first draft. I'm having trouble coming up with a story to show for this thing. I'm debating using a friends character rig to liven up this scene. But for right now I'm just trying to have really rich colors, no texturing but basic shaders so far, texturing will be next.

Crits, harsher the better, are welcome.
