Smile TP Selection/VB/Activate by animated texture

I'm sort of stuck trying to use this technique here:

I'm essentially trying to use an animated texture to "select" particles and send them into a new group. I've tried using a TexmapColor helper who's Color value is wired to a Threshold Condition. It works in the sense that the entire group is either in one or the other instead of individual particles along with their shape's.

If I'm being too confusing, I'm basically trying to do what a volume select modifier using a map does, but within TP to Volume Break.

Hope I'm making enough sense. I appreciate any help

Thanks for the file! So it looks like I was halfway on the right track from what I see from your file. Just in case anyone is asking this same question I'll describe it.

You took the particle's position on a surface and wired it to a Memory Operator. Then called it back using another memory and Tested its position on a surface with the underlying "color" value. If it was greater than the value, it then moved into another group.

Again, thanks for the help!
