Wow, a 30 minute sketch? That's exceptionally impressive! I like the idea behind it, though I have to say the emotional pull of your first idea with the disabled child is quite spectacular. However, having struggled to pin one of my own ideas down, I understand how hard it can be to find a physical image that matches the one in your head, so I can't say i blame you.

I do like the sound of the harlequin, I also think it'll be something you'd excell at, with all those lovely details and swirlies and the like...

Best of luck for the challenge, I'll be keeping an eye on how this thread progresses.

Hi, Ky! Looking good, and 30 min= mad skillz!!!
I like the left pose better, it looks more "invitational" and feminine.
Good work!

Concept Sketch: A bit more work on the Host Concept

Nothing really new. I just spent a bit more time defining one of the characters feature and playing around with her hair.

Still in b/w - I normally don't do that but I didn't want to be distracted by colors in order to focus on face structure.

Hi there,
I probably go to hell for this, I mean how can I criticize the master,
but this is a beautiful portrait but.... you know what I mean,
I know my place in the food chain, but I don't think it fits in the concept
as a portrait is breath taking, just love it

This is only a concept sketch of one of the characters in the painting. To get a feel what I want them to look like.
I am developing the characters while working on an overall scene for the painting.
Besides, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion and every comment is helpful

hi tascha, i finally foud your entry! didn't you know that you can add a link to this on your signature?

i like the idea with the magic heat a lot and'd like to see it finished. and it also fits very well into the theme, don't worrie 'bout the not so super cool challenge theme too much though, and just go on. it anyway almost doesn't matter what you do as long as you do it good
your sketches are awesome. don't be shy, show us more
