Where do you start?
I have a scattering of skills ranging from film making (special effects) to websites, 3d ect.
But I want to start building skills in drawing, I have some skills in the area but not much, because I want to apply at the AI of Vancouver for Game Art & Design. Where should I start? Is it just practicing like mad? Then, I'll have to somehow discover how to motivate myself to concentrate long enough because I am somewhat easily distracted. Or should I begin by studying anatomy or architecture?, depending on which one I fancy.
Seeing as how many people here are beyond proffessional I hope that some of you can answer my questions or at least point me in the right direction.
Oh and while I'm at it. Does one have to be an amazing drawer/illustrator to be accepted into an art institute? or does it vary depending on the school?
Any form of encouragement or advice is greatly appreciated.

Since you are in Vancouver, have you considered checking out VFS? I have never heard of the reputation of AI, yet I hear of VFS's reputation constantly.
