sh@ke,

If you like oils, you should take a look at the painting Sheff just posted on the Life Painting thread here.

Have you ever done Master Copies? These are great to do to learn proportions...you should definitely check out the Master Copies thread.

There's a lot of great stuff there, and I can't think of a better way to practice drawing!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

i gave the shading a shot, took me round an hour and a half. After messing up the higlight on the hair, ive decided to do the whole lighting with two light sources... i know it was not the best idea and that firstly i need to study easier stuff before moving on to the harder, but as i said i gave it a shot

Drake_Stormrage,

The anatomy study is pretty nice! I might recommend filling the bkgrd with gray, as it will inform your values to a great degree. Then I would continue to adjust values until the form really reads almost as 3D. This is coming along quite well!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Kencho,

I think the figure needs more in the way of a pelvis ~ his buttocks are a bit too high, he needs more of a waist. I think you have a good basis of the figure here. Have you ever studied the drawings of Burne Hogarth? I think you might like his books quite a lot.

Cheers,

~Rebeccak
