C4D Material/texture question-Need help ASAP

This is a very simple question that I cannot seem to figure out.
When I create a new plane in c4d, make a new material and its that default greyish/white one, I apply the texture to the plane by dragging it on, when I rotate the plane flatter to the camera it appears grey.I need help ASAP so yea...

This is probably caused by c4d's strong default specular setting. In the material, either turn down the height setting of the specular or disable it entirely.

Shading :(
I didn't create any other light source...
What do you guys recommend I do

Also, are there any "quick fixes" without going too complicated into lighting?

Shading is needed for any kind of half way realistic illumination. Only if you go for non realistic rendering you can do without.
There are several options, Sketch & Toon offers shading that is not neccesarily dependent on the angle and you can use the luminance channel in a material to basicaly override the shading.
Are you sure this is realy what you are after? Do you have any example images of the look you want to achieve?

Looks like the default light!

Create a light, drag above plane, make child of plane, when plane is rotated, light stays relevant to surface, is that simple enough!
