Silo is a lot of fun!
As a user of various applications.. I wish I had started with Silo. There's so much I want to do.. modeling, texturing, animating, rendering that I constantly overlooked the basics and became overwelmed.
Silo for me has been a godsend. Split Loops, Connect, and Extrude and I'm off and running.
Things I love about Silo..
~The mapped shortcut keys. ASDF (Vertex,Edge,Face,Object) AND WER (Move,Scale,Rotate)
~It's very intuitive, I've been able to figure a lot without the help file
~The Camera Navigation
~Snap to Grid
~Mirror Instancing is fantastic
~The speed.. runs great on my laptop
Not sure why I'm posting this other than I'm really happy with this application. After spending so much money on other software, I really think Silo is just a great value for what it is.
Kudos to Nevercenter

YEAH! Silo is fun! I also think that HEX2 and Wings can be fun also.
For some reason, dedicated modelers have a really 'cool' feel to them.

Well, Silo is FUN!
Seriously though, good points. Silo is probably the fastest and easiest to learn modeling application around. I've tried them all and I'm absolutely hooked on Silo. 2.0 is great fun as well. I do agree with madheavy though, modeling application have a certain feel to them. I use Silo and Modo mainly and they both have different feels to them but they are both great fun. I have Hexagon 2.0 (and was beta) but I think Silo 2.0 is where it will be at when it's 100% finished.
