Silo Interface: FrySchema

Here's an interface that should incerease the button workflow within Silo beyond the default (it does for me atleast). It's mostly meant for people that like to have the buttons always on display and have an easy way access to them. However, there's a quick show/hide button at the bottom for those people that would rather have their buttons out of site.

The most commonly used buttons have been place in the middle of the screen and close to the middle of the menu's to provide a flawless workflow. Futhermore, the menu's in the middle are permenant, while the menu on the far left (the one with lesser used buttons) is scrollable (Tab / Shift+Tab by defualt). There are still a few thing's that need to be fixed in the interface, but nothing major that will severly alter the current workflow.

Note: Also there are two types of the interface. Somone brought to my attention that they prefer a simplistic look while others may enjoy a glossed look so I made them both.

Also I wanna give a big thanx to tankut at the nevercenter forums for hosting this for me!!!

ok i tried it and the buttons look cool, I have to admit i like the way the interface looks and the tools set-up but I would prefer the buttons forced top and forced left them floating in the middle sucks just gets in the way. I wil try for a day or so to get a better feel and will post anything else i feel could be bettre but thanks again.

Yeah I figured this setup would bother a few people, but it seems to work just great for me. Mostly because I don't like to move my mouse all the way to the top or all the way to the left/right. Instead I just use this and work a little right of center and I'm fine. Also if the middle menu bothers you don't forget about the show/hide buttons at the bottom. Just push hide buttons when you don't want to see them and then push spacebar anytime you want them to reappear and if u want them to stay put again just click the "show buttons" button while pushing spacebar.

note: I was just using the classic style and I noticed a few bugs in it. I don't know if they hold true in the gel version to, but I'll fix them and have a new version ready by tommorrow.

Try turning the buttons off and pop them up with the space bar as and when you need them.

Edit: Already suggested by Fry'

Nice looking interface! Works fine for me in single view, with four panels things get a little messy though

btw: If your install path differs from the one used in the *.sbl file you can simply workaround that by putting all the files in the same dir and load it as usual.

Yesterday I said would have a new version of the finished interface done for you guys, but I don't really have time to complete the whole thing today. However, I do have a preview screenie so you guys know what you have to look forward to.

Here's a list of the new thing's added so far.
- Left Menu moved left (to give u alittle more room in the middle)
- New Buttons
- Merge Verts
- Merge Objects
- Subdivide
- Unsubdivide
- Partial Subdivide
- Area Selection
- Paint Selection
- XYZ Axis labeled (until nevercenter labels them within the app.)
- Mirror options added in main menu
- 5th menu (push tab 5 times while working on object)
- Run plugin (for people with the vert-loop erase script...I might include it with this rev.)
- soft selection modes
