Welp, as you can see I'm all frazzled and red eyed over this day - I'm happy to hear about XSI 5, even Lightwave got an upgrade (even though news from them was not at the top of my list right now.)

I was really hoping to hear about a ZBrush download - no joy, may even be further delays...

I tell ya, most companies refuse to speak on new features and release dates cause when they slip, folks get upset and irate. Now I tend to agree LOL!

I almost wish I hadn't seen the ZBrush sneak peeks cause it's killing me and it's gonna cost me major home equity money to pay for the cryogenic-sleep tube so I can still be alive when they finally release the new features!

Gotta wait till at least 3a to hear from Nevercenter - lawd, what a day, uh, nite...

I think I'ma give up all these hi-cost / high-stress 3D apps and get back to basics with the most powerful crayon based 3D modeler out there - Teddy!
(Now if I can only resist retopologizing my Teddy models!...)

Main page at Nevercentre 2 is announced

The displacement vid doesn't work here though ?

!@#$%^

I just bought silo in june.... damn screwed! Also the displacement movie does not seem to work. Sounds like some good stuff coming to silo. UV mapping looks good, but it doesn't look like anything spectacular. The image of the displament mapping is nice, wish the video worked. I dont want to sound like a ass but wasn't all of this known before Sig?? Where are the tid bits they were holding back??

Old 08 August 2005   #58
I dont think they were holding back anything but now they are showing aswell (Not in the case of the displacement video though )
As is the case with Nevercenter these are just the initial bits of info and normally you will find that the point upgrades that are put together from user input are more important than the big features, This method has allowed NC to turn this big features into killer features.

I would hope for a few extra new features in 2 but i would also be a little downhearted if they announced all those new features and where left with no hype for release day.

Still i do agree that they should have put up a few extra videos covering UVs and Displacement painting, I guess this week is a very busy week for those two guys though

Well I had set my alarm for 3am but since I had stayed up till 1:30, my tired behind said scrue it when it went off and dismissed the alarm and went back to sleep - glad I did...

I guess so much for any kind of new download to play with this week...

-Will

PS - Okay I stand somewhat corrected - apparently 1.42 will be release shortly (from the Silo forum)...
