Snap Pivot to vertex (SOLVED)

Snap Pivot to vertex or surface?
Manipulator Edit Mode(m) + Snap to grid works

Make sure mesh is in vertex, face or edge mode.

The pivot automatically positions itself on whatever vertex, edge or face you select unless you disable positioning.

Are you wanting to make a selection of several components and then manipulate them from a specific position (not the selection centre)?

If that is the case, you can use a couple of methods:
  1. Position the manipulator first, disable positioning (from the auto orient manipulator menu) and then make your selection.
  2. Make your selection, enter manipulator edit mode, click on the vertex (switching selection mode if needed) you want manipulate from, then alt-z to get your previous selection back.
