Faces when extruding

In several tutorials I've seen on Silo, when you take multiple adjacent faces, with normals going out in different directions, and extrude, the extrusion goes out in a straight line, I think along one of the world axes.

In Silo 2.2 on mac, when I try this, each face gets extruded along its normal axis, expanding as it goes, so when I get out for enough I have to scale down and adjust the faces.

Anyone know how to fix this? Version problem? Config or option setting?

Thanks for your help,

LH

I haven't seen the tutorials, but it sounds like, rather than Extruding and adjusting the Local Move, they could just be Extruding, dropping the tool and then moving manually with Tweak ...
