Red face Lighting help

I've modeled in 3dsmax 6 a country view with trees and houses.
I have a silly question:
What or how is the best way to lighten it (with shadows and atc...) ?
I don't have much experience with lighting although i read the
3dsmax tutorials, so please forgive me.

I'm sure you could get much more in depth answers in the lighting & texturing forum...
