Looking for lettering guides
Remember way back when before computers, people used to do certian lettering in a rather mathmatical manner, by drawing lots of guide lines using ruler and compass.
I am looking for references to this type of lettering, that shows the guide lines and having a hard time finding anything. Anyone have a clue where I might look for this? |

Hmm, close but not quite. Nice links btw though.
Here is a quick mockup of what I am looking for: ![]() If I could find this as a font, with all the little guide lines that would be nice, or just some sort of a reference that shows all of the letters of the alphabet this way. |

What do you need a guide for to do that? all you need is a ruler and a compass, or the line tool and round selection tool in photoshop, if you want to design your own letters that way.

Well actually that's how I did that mock up, but I am looking for a reference because I want it to be as realistic as possible. I'll be redoing it all in 3d anyhow. I'd be willing to bet there is a font out there somewhere like this. Does anyone happen to even know if there is a term for what I am looking for? |
