Art education

Hey whats goin on. I'm using my friends account to check out the art on the forums. I'm pretty impressed with all the work on the site. Right now I'm a student at San Diego State University. I feel that on a lot of levels the caliber of work I'm doing isn't up to par. I was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind telling me about your educational background so that I can approach the tier that you guys are at. Below are some links of art whose styles I really respond. If you could offer any advice for a hunger design student I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance for your time.

Second year UofI student here, transferring to AAU (SF) in June (I know, I know. You don't need to go to an expensive school to be good. But I have my fair share of reasons for going).
Seeing as how all of the pieces you're pointing out are digital paintings, maybe you should get into that a bit (if you haven't started learning already)? Take part in the daily sketch group and keep with it. Get ahold of a Wacom if you don't have one, and just go nuts. Educational background isn't as important as just practicing.
