Shearing the Rams - Tom Roberts (188890)

Another favourite

The Pioneer - Frederick McCubbin (1904)

Goes well with a liberal dose of Rolf Harris.

John Bauer is a favourite indeed, when I saw the topic I knew I wanted to list him and "Flaming June"

I know it doesnt look that impressive on screen, but on an artreproduction (Havnt had the chance to see the original) its realy beautiful.

I like simplicity in my favorite art images. I'm not even sure if this qualifies because I believe the artist called this one of his speed paints. But every since I saw it, I've wanted a copy very large and on canvas for my home. My wife would probably hate it.

One of many much beloved images from bengal ...

... I like the new artists.

One painter that has always fascinated me is Roberto Matta - I love the combination of painting, structure and symbol.

Waaay too many others to mention, Fiona Rae, Tai Shan Schierenberg, Howard Hodgkin, Edward Hopper, Lucien Freud... and on, and on...

Great thread

I can never stick with a single favorite. My interests are always changing.

But for right now (and it may seem like your typical, freshman art school dorm decoration) but Archimboldo
