How to actually practice drawing the smart way?

Hi guys, I'm looking to improve my drawing skills. My perspective, linework, and all that. How would you go about actually practicing that, and practicing smart? Just drawing random things is a waste of time and I'd much rather be drawing and learning the proper way, instead of slowly and wrong. Are there any exercises to improve on anything? I'd really appreciate some insight. Thanks!

Read this thread: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthr...?f=166&t=655287

In it, I have talked in detail about how to learn and practice efficiently, including exactly what you should be practicing and how.

You should also read all the threads linked in this thread (if you haven't yet): http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthr...?f=166&t=844409

In them, I have given lots of very helpful insights about what pitfalls to watch out for when developing as an artist, so you don't end up with bad habits that are detrimental to your artistic growth.

Okay thanks Robert. Also if you could update the broken links on your art tutorials thread, I'd love to read them.
