Concept Sketch: First sketch

First sketch, trying out for a look and feel. Setting the mood/compostition etc. The guy floating on the right is a residu from another idea. Left him in for the fun of it. The composition is based around the top right of the picture. I added the body of the animal at a later stage.

Good luck, supervlieg! Good to see another DSGer here-- we're taking the challenge by storm!
I'll swing by every now and again and crit. Looking good so far, though I'm not really sure what's going on in the picture. Explain?

Kind of a carnivorous, gigantic bull...looks like
Quite an action scene. I'll be coming back to see what happens.

Good luck!

Well its a slave beast, being ridden by some fat bloke who is its master. Why its such agony I have yet to figure out. The guy floating the scene on the right is a leftover from another idea. I kinda like him in there to confuse everyone

Here's another study of the slave beast

Great start there Yannis. I really like the movement in the piece. Your colour study of the slave beast is cool too. I really like your conceptual style. keep up the good work and good luck with the challenge.

That's an imaginative beast, but at the moment it looks like all servant and no master. I'd suggest that the master is the important one in the relationship, so even if he (or she) is much smaller, he needs to make an impression. Maybe you'll sort this out through colour use, or a clear, detailed facial expression, I don't know. I can only go with what's there now and I don't think you have the balance right.
