It's a great sketch! Maybe when you're going back through redesigns you can give the genie a sneaky smirk on his face. You never get exactly what you wish for with then damn genies. The wishes tend to have crappy consequences that come along with them.

Working out new ideas for the Genie. I'll take it past a few tries like this, with different expressions on it's face to test what impact it has to the scene.

Same goes for the body position in the scene.

The feel i'm going for is the boy doesn't know what he's getting himself into. It's his servant........for now!

Man, that guy is up to no good! Looks more like a demon then the general archetype genie.

You have a good point in that the master doesn't know what he's getting in to. I think that the "servant strikes back"-theme is a very interesting way to go. As I've been browsing, I see some others have considered this aswell.

Interesting that you should say that, because Genie's according to Arabic legend are 'fire demons'........


Like I wrote earlier, I'll probably go right around the world trying all sorts of designs for him. I'm trying the scary angle first...........the next attempt will be an untrustworthy/ impish expression.

Proud.....smiling......laughing etc etc the right one will present itself........i'm confident of that.

You know!......'I know something you don't' sort of look. Early days yet.
