Whoah Matt, you just blow me away man...Clearly a very gifted individual...
I think his right hand looks a bit unnatural with the sword at the mo, I can't clearly tell what he's doing with it...

Everything else just makes me wanna

Keep it up man!!!

wow man thats some amazing work u got there.... i can reall c a dinamic image comming to life.. very well done.... i got a lil critiq tho.. his right hand is looking a bit unnatural...u might try to flip it in the other side.. that will show more strenght i guess... rather that that its an astonishing work mate!! keep it up

just incredible work.
did I say your scene looks quite simple? I must apologize then. symbolism which you are talking about makes your image not only beautiful but didactic.
I'm glad I could post my words of appreciation in one of finalists thread.

i like the symbolic idea, that will be important here. The lighting and modeling are well done, and the poses look real natural.i just dont care much for the textures, they kind of kill it for me.But with time you might improve them some I hope. They look kind of on the plastic side.Still overall a nice piece.

Thanks for sharing tips man. Nice effect you got there in the end.

Am not a big fan of the green color in general... but looking at your sample here... it does look nice man. I might unban green from my palette fro now on

keep updating!

Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated Regarding shaders, they are very plasticky right now (they're all temporary Phong shaders). & About the hand, I'm not too keen on it either & couldn't figure a good place for it to go without messing up the composition. Here's the first test render of the hair, which covers most of the right arm. Do you reckon it still needs reposing?

i can't get over how good this is--fantastic work! the right hand is still a problem to my eye. i think overcontrast and poisen are right--it's that it's not a natural way to hold a knife/sword, in that if his hand fell to his side, the knife would be pointing backward. i think in this pose you should see the back of his hand.
