Great modeling, and great sketching too! Lots of nice details in there (especially the hand), it's a cool design to begin with and the model is coming along very nicely. I'd like to see the head finished, I'm sure it's going to be awesome. Alexi

Thanks everyone for the support! I hope that I can get everything done in time. Tonight I think I am going to create a rough 3D layout for the entire scene so everybody (including myself) can get a better idea of the direction the finished composition may take. Untill then...

Oh yeah, I will also try to get the wires for the masters body on tonight too.

Cheers!

Modeling: Master Head

Ok, here is the nearly finished head. the cables need more detail but I am not sure if I will do that in the model or in the texture. I think I want him to be wearing a tattered hood/cloak so I am not sure at this point what will be covered and what will be showing. I think that I want to model the cloth with polys and then get some dynamics with reactor for the final pose. Not quite sure yet though...Any suggestions or crits so far? Must sleep now...

Hi, I love your design!

I guess only think I would love to see is his upper body (torso) much bigger.

Awesome texturing on that leg. Good luck!

my stuff:

Thanks for the input Z...this is my first challenge so every little bit helps! As far as the torso size, it is probably smaller in proportion than it could be but I was kind of going for the feel of the monster element overpowering the human(?) aspect of the character. In the final composition the torso will fill most of the foreground as he cradles a human infant and the spider aspect will be looming behind. Now that I thimk of it that may be a strong enough scene on its own...I originally wanted that same setup but with the creatures cave in the background with his other human servants cleaning and cooking (another infant) but i will have to start arranging my final scene I guess before I will decide.

Cheers!

Alex, I am using Max 7. I have only been doing 3D for about 10 months now and it is the only 3D program I know how to use (or should I say I am learning to use). Maybe when I get better I will try some of the others out. Thanks for the encouagement!
