A Dream, music video/animation (with behind the scenes video)
It is my big pleasure to present my first freelance project, a commission by a British music producer Rundfunk to visualize his latest song A Dream.
It took me 3 weeks and it is made almost all with free software:
— GIMP (illustrations)
— XNA, Visual C# Express (code, realtime rendering)
— CamStudio (timelapse recording)
— VirtualDub (video manipulation)
— Expression Encoder 4 (video conversion for XNA)
— Fraps (not free, licensed version, recording the final video)
More about how this was created can be seen in the behind the scenes video.
I know it's not up to the quality of studio works and especially animation is really bad since it's my first time animating anything. Still, the client was very happy, the YouTube video has 30k views and people are liking it a lot. The comments have been amazing and it feels like magic when people respond with the feelings you were trying to get across with the video. Of course the awesome song does a lot of the work there too.
Hope you enjoy it, cheers!
Some gifs from the video, just for fun:
(p.s. It's been a while since I registered here, so hello everyone!)
