The animation has this robotic feeling. I don't know how to improve it. Can someone give me direction that may help me to improve it? This is my first animation that I had ever made.

Thank you

If this is your first animation ever then it is not as bad
You'd better concentrate on practicing single movements before you make your own short. Many things contribute to a good short film. It is too early for you to deal with all of them. You have a quite nice story. But the characters motion is poor, the same with camera and the overall tempo, there are no contrasts, no directions, no accents. Never let you characters to be completely motionless. Be aware of the character's weight. You can't move your foot, when you stand, without shifting your weight over the other leg. Did you read "Animators survival kit" or watch R. Williams' lectures? You can study there walk cycles and takes (=looking at).
But what I like most in your animation is that little guy turning around to start jumping
