Thanks! My first challenge and I'm really looking forward to it. Have a few ideas already but I guess I'll ruminate on it for a day or two before I commit to a concept.

Concept Sketch: Looking Glass

My first thought was to have a planet appearing through a wormhole-type thingy, opened up by the character depicted in the reflection. The weapon (torus) is poised to fire through the wormhole, and the character is about to slam his fist down on the fire button. The character was to be the focal point but I decided it's a problem with the indistinct reflected image. So ... next thought is to use basically the same setup but with much more interest concentrated on the space outside, i.e., attack ships heading into the wormhole and defenders coming through to meet them--while preserving the reflected image of the character and his emotional response.

haaa good starting point I like the concept; specially the idea to use the reflections. Will not be easy to balance between reflection and the space outside scene... This idea intrigue me !

I'd be careful with the composition of this Adam, I like the idea of the reflection, but I think you'll lose it if you place it over to many other elements especially with such a centralised composition, could all just get a bit busy in the middle there

Thanks for the feedback gents. I'm definitely keeping an eye on the composition and will be sure (to try to) avoid too much clutter. This preliminary is in 4:3 aspect ratio but the final will be at least 16:9 and probably wider than that--so I'll have more room to arrange the outside elements.

this is a question that I made on the thread...
Final Image Size
A guideline is 2657 pixels wide and/or 3636 high, 300 DPI.

don't know if is only a guide or the image must be vertical...? we will see in any case with 16:9 will works perfectly !

EDIT: by the end hori/vert are allowe how they wrote in the FAQ Thread...

Hi Adam.
Great idea: The huge spaces combined with the charactes`s expression on the glass reflection. Nice concept sketch.
Good luck!!
