I don't believe to insert a scene of battle. I would like to recreate an instant of a day typical of this colonial civilization. There will obviously be many other elements that complete the composition

Amazing "sketch" , looking forward to the progress. Really original too, since there's nothing destructed (yet)

Thanks for the compliments, but I love too much 3d.....

The ring doesn't rotate, and a fate of central magnet that holds back around the pieces with some rays.
The roots that you see are the refusals that are deposited after all to the structures and as bases are used for building us above other buildings "recycle some refusals"

This really looks fantastic! You could easily enter the 2D contest instead of the 3D. But I'd really like to see this in 3D. Good luck!

Amazing concept, so alien! Good luck!

It looks excellent already (and you haven't even started..), but I have a few critiques already, too...

  • It's not an entirely substantial structure. It can be perceived either as a giant colony in space or a paper-thin chunk of cylinder, depending on how you choose to look at it... although I see you're still filling in the empty space...

  • I hope you'll distinguish your cityscape from those automatically generated by the greeble plugin.

  • I suspect grays & monotones are going to abound in this challenge, so it might be a nice touch if you color & stylize your buildings to reflect a culture.

oh, two more things. The challenge criteria specifies that the image "should capture a pivotal moment," but you say you're just going to depict a day in the colony. I think that's fine, so long as you're aware that it's not *exactly* on topic.

Out of curiosity, what resolution are you painting at?
