Looks absolutely awesome!

One thing: You've got a distant ship in the middle sort of falling down in flames... This would look great if you break it up a lot... I want to see millions of pieces scattered there... and dead pets - small pieces of dead pets falling down...

This looks like the finished product! I am so inspired!

In contrast, my concept sketches are line drawings with a red pen on yellow post-it notes.

Great Sketch!!!
I would push the relationship between the structures. Right now they are a little too similar
and you are loosing some depth.
This will be easier in 3D, but I thought I would mention it now anyway!!!

I think I'll just have to post an image of some crazed squiggly lines, and call it my sketch. I have to get going on the 3D, or I'll never catch up.

Great work so far, Dimitris.

More flaming wreckage would be very cool. I guess it depends on how much time you've got!

Maybe you should be entering the 2d part as well!

Now look here, I specifically said 'millions'... we cannot expect to have a decent dialogue if you're constantly going to CHANGE what I tell you... Sure, I can see how things get twisted around in your head, like "he he, he said millions.... I'm sure nobody will notice if I only make a few hundred.. hehe" - - but I'm not gonna take it!
Use some kind of explosion modifier or some fragment-based particles or make every bit manually, I don't care, just get the numbers right, m'kay!?

Nice sketch Dimitris, I like the choice of colours and sense of scale. The overall composition feels pretty crowded though and I can't really find anything to focus on. Maybe it would work better if you had one central piece.
Good luck! Looks like a good start

the colors in your "sketch" are really great. and the basic idea looks good. i think wiro has a point though. it's hard to find a focus in the picture.
but it still is an amazing start - can't wait to see the updates.
(still not sure about joining the challenge myself)
so it is written...
