Modeling the holes for a speaker

Hey guys,
I'm trying to come up with a way to model the holes for the "Pill" speaker by Dr. Dre.
I've seen this kind of stuff done in Zbrush before and I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on how to tackle this
Here's a link to the speaker itself:,pd.html

Thanks informerman!!! I've scrolled through the videos and they seem to show exactly what I need to know. I'll post results later if it works out

So I used the noise maker with an alpha and managed to punch out the holes. However the resulting geo ended up being too dense and messy for what I need it for (I'll be rendering closeups)
Next step is looking into how I can model this the old school way..

try this
the pink square wireframe below i used instead of the wireframe square box in the video,
i did use thickness, i think i used the zweleder plugin to weld it

Wow. That's quite a cool/useful script right there. I'll keep it for future projects
In the end I went with a transparency map and a displacement map. Takes forever to render but Vray does a decent job at it.
Thanks again for the help!

he came up with the idea.

Yeah, I saw the whole tutorial, so it's cool to see how it can be applied to any type of model
I specially like the fact that you can use any shape besides the "standard" wireframe square.
I'm always surprised by the things that you can do with Zbrush these days.
