Ripping MatCap materials


I'm just learning ZBrush since a couple of day and already fall in love with MatCaps shaders.

I was wondering, how do you create them? I'm reading some tutorials but they're not really clear: some passages are missing. Is there any separate tool to do that or is it done inside of ZBrush? Once I'm in ZBrush making MatCap materials, how does my current polymesh3d relate to the making of a Shader? Aren't they separate entities?

Most important, I wanted to know if there is any way to convert these materials into CGFX shaders. If not, if there is any way how to bake them down according to an imported mesh.
