wacom cintiq issue: zadd subtracts, smooth makes rough geometery

designingpatrick had this issue in 2009 - thread has been closed so I'm restarting this problem thread...

to quote him
"If using any brush on zAdd, then the geometry is pushed into the model.
If smoothing with any brush, then the geometry is roughened and unidentifiable deformation occurs"
this only happens on my cintiq, everything is fine if I drag to my on to the screen and use my intuous 3 tablet.

Another way to describe it is as designingpatrick noted:

  • the wacome nib works as if it was the eraser (both Zadd and Zsub subtract ) ---
  • the wacome eraser works as if it was the pen nib (Zadd adds, Zsub subtracts as the pen should)
And very weirdly (but logically) if I have half of the canvas on the cintiq and half on the monitor,

  • it works correctly (Zadd adds Zsub subtracts) on the monitor
  • and backwards (both Zadd and Zsub subtracts) on the cintiq

I have the newest wacom drivers and am still using win7 on this machine.
