Brush effect, a cry for help

Hi everyone,

This forum had been recommended to me by a few friends in the hope one of you fine people could help me out. I'm a traditional calligraphy artist and since very recently i'm trying to do some digital calligraphy painting but i'm having a very hard time in simulating the cal. brush effect i'm after. Could you guys maybe help me out on witch brush to use and how to configure my brush setting in PS CS6.

I have included an image of the brush effect i'm after (Link),

i understand that its probably going to be impossible to emulate the exact same effect but i'd like to come close where you could see the effect of the brush hairs in the stroke. I have been honestly trying hours before asking for help but i'm not getting anywhere.

All help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried FontLab & Illustrator to make custom fonts before? Normally you can make custom letting with Illustrator and use FontLab to make it work functionally. From there you can export custom fonts to be used in any program.
