Thanks for your encouragement and replies. You are allowed to criticize though!

Somnio is a personal book project I've been working on for a few years. On and off I should add. Mostly off since I've been very busy with work. Only last year was quite a productive one as I took on alot fewer projects and focused more on this. It is a collection of short stories, written by myself, mixed with artwork lke this. The level of finish of each image varies alot, giving it a more dynamic feeling than if all paintings were super polished. Some are "finished", some are rough, I personally like that mix. You can see more on my website.

Here's another quicker one just to show the range of quality:

I wish I could share everything, but I'm going to keep some to myself. I'd like the book to feel fresh when (if?) published. Thanks for looking.
It's all Photoshop work.

Nate Owens> I agree, doing this in oils or acrylic takes much longer. I feel spoiled being able to do it on the computer. I understand it does not suit the art gallery world, but my hope is that it will be accepted at some point. I had the pleasure of living in Korea for a few months last year, and I visited several galleries with digital artwork. It seems much more accepted there.

Awesome work as always Henrik, what is there to criticize? Perhaps the rough frame is distracting in places. But I know some people like that.

Hope to see you when your back in London

Hey man! No problem, I've been doing loads of stuff too =) Those mails were probably mostly filled with random thoughts of the moment anyways.

Good luck with that mate! I hope it will all go smooth.

Goteborg is great, although we are all threatened by all the issues at SAAB right now.. so I might be back in Mösterås in a couple of weeks/months, working on a real portfolio If that happens, I aim to leave Sweden.

At least I've learned the ins and outs of modeling in 3ds max now. Great application btw.

Hello there, Kim Taylor told me a lot about you and now I see he was right.
Fantastic work, mate.
If you ever fancy a drink in London, let me know, ok?
Best regards,

insane

VERY nice work Henrik, as usual. I love the painterly feel. So much emotion in the strokes. Is there any chance you would be willing to share a few of your brushes with the community?

awesome brushwork and technique.. i love the painterly feeling.. dunno why this wouldn't be accepted for digital work? i find it just unbelievable hard to master this style in comparison to always clean and detailed work done cg wise..

gives alots of life to it..
