(in my Al Bundy voice)

Oh THAT's where that is. Whew, I thought the gate to hell was my bedroom door!

(Al Bundy voice off)

Great expression of cold and evil.

WOW this is awesome and very inspiring. This is my new wallpaper now.

Im trying to rip this appart and understand how you did this..... How did you get such detailed texture. Because to do this by hand would take forever.

i like it but i think the right part, the bright part, should be slightly darker in tone to create more focus on the center of attention

Thanks everyone!
I am really proud of the great feedback I have recived from you all and not to mention the CG Choice award!

As I've said in a previous post, there are a great deal of texturework in the rocky parts. But most of the textures served as a base to paint on. I often use Matte-Painting techniques when making concept paintings.

Yes, It would have taken a week to do it, and no one has that amount of time in a production setting

I am going to make a "Making of" for this image in the coming weeks. It should be a lot of fun!

I don't know what to say really... It's beautiful and looks very realistic. Makes you wonder what they will find down there and how long this passage has remained undiscovered, which gives me a sense of anxiety to what will happen next.

Really good stuff, Wibben!

...it's a five!
