Coming Home, Michael Kutsche (2D)

Title: Coming Home
Name: Michael Kutsche
Country: Germany
Software: Painter, Photoshop

Commissioned workshop I did for ImagineFX magazine issue 33 ( 95 percent done in Painter, some tweaks in Photoshop. I believe that an artist should always leave some free space for interpretation, giving only some hints on the story behind it- completely self-explaining art has a tendency of being boring, because it doesn't involve the viewer's mind to complete the puzzle.

As Always, beautiful work! Im workin on "Alice" pre-vis, and your concepts for that project are top notch as well. Your consistency is rock solid. Very inspirational!

Thanks for the kind words!

@Abazaba: Thanks mate! You guys from Third Floor did some terrific pre-vis stuff on "Alice"!
I'm still here in LA doing the last strokes on the character designs, and I really can't wait until the film's completion.

It's a beautiful work michael ! We can sense the emotion in his eyes. The work of the light, the colors and the texture is incredible. Really evocative work.

just powerfull, as always. You right, interpretation is probably the key concerning art.

I really really like the treatment of the suit, all that little texture and.. the metal indication in the collar, the color.. just everything that's going on in there. The face looks almost 3d to me somehow! could be the consistent texture and high amount of perfect detail of individual hairs and skin texture and whatnot. Too good to be true haha :P

But this is reaaallllly nice work..
