A strange case, Craig Sellars (2D)

Title: A strange case
Name: Craig Sellars
Country: Canada
Software: Photoshop

Attempted to create a moody, and slightly strange take on the classic detective genre. Comments are welcome and appreciated.

really nice concept. i would move the robot and doctor figures a bit closer to the center so that the doc isnt being cut off, but yea, aside that this image is kick butt.

Yes very well done and great mood. Maybe you can desaturate and contrast a little the picture to emphasize the "film noir" effect. Anyway, very good job ;-)

wow - this is brilliant - one of the more interesting pieces I've seen here lately - it reminds me of Edward Hopper's paintings, and the addition of the robot doesn't change it's legitimacy - some might liken it to sci-fi pulp novel cover art - but I think it's a stand-alone artistic piece!

I love it! A great idea executed perfectly. The angle of view and the character positions and body language all add up to create a smoky tension straight out of The Asphalt Jungle. I agree with Jim's point about the robot fitting in well. It's so cool! There's a great story in this somewhere. Top notch rendering too. 5*.

If you don't mind my asking, roughly how long did it take?

Thanks for all the comments guys!

reviresco - I had been looking at old pulp illustrations and strived to acheive that feel.
As for Hopper..... well thanks very much!

agv - about an hour or two roughing it up, then an evening of finishing things off
and noodling.

Cheers all !
