Barbarian Warrior, Silvia Fusetti (2D)

Title: Barbarian Warrior
Name: Silvia Fusetti
Country: Italy
Software: Photoshop, Poser, XSI

Another male subject for this work. Why clients doesn’t ask me to make a nice woman!?
I made a part of this book cover in 3d graphic ( xsi for the helmet and poser for the basic reference face ) but the most part of work was made in photoshop. I shot some reference photos for skin textures and hairs ( thanks to Lorenzo for posing :) ).
There’s a lot of painting in this work. The beard is totally painted too.
About the helmet : modelled by Gabriele Sina, I did texturing, lighting, shading.

Here you have some work steps,
some reference photos,
and some details:

He feels more like a Viking than a Barbarian to me. Otherwise I'd say it's pretty close to perfect, the colours, detail on the helmet and beard are all impecable!

Very nice work, I'm working on a piece which I'll make most of in 3D but the finishign touches in 2D. I wasn't sure about painting the beard but now that I've seen this piece I think I'll go ahead with it. I'm keeping yours as a reference for the level of quality it needs to be at!

5 stars
