Awesome peice dude! your entry for the journey challenge was my fav in the challenge so seeing this is a treat indeed! damn this has the makings for a really great childrens book.

I'm quite floored by the reaction in this thread. I really did not expect to receive such nice feedback especially because after just having finihsed the painting I see a thousand things I would like to change. You all give me this nice and warm feeling of being able to step back and be a little proud of the accomplished work. Thank you for that!

As I promised, here are some sketches that I drew along the creation of this image. As you can see, the original idea did undergo quite a change. Well, that's how it goes when you venture into uncharted territory.

You can expect me to venture deeper into the world behind the magic painting. I would feel happy if you like to follow me in the future!
