Crit:

It may be only me, but the perspective planes in this image are wonky. The carpeted floor in the back appears to be on a different plane than the right corner with the head of Holophernes; and the vanishing point for the floor and bed appear to go in different directions.

I assume this was not intentional; since you are a meticulous painter.

Also the right foot looks flatish and w/o structure. (But, I wouldn't bother reworking it since most people won't notice it.)

Did you just work off the photos you used as reference? It would have been helpful to have a friend pose for the foot.

Also, some of the fabrics lack that extra bit of weight for true realism. But, now I'm nitpicking.

You also need to work on your storytelling. The head of Holophernes appears a little bit like a discarded after thought.

You are an extraordinary talent. So don't take my criticisms personally. Your image is a virtuosic display that lacks a little bit of architectural structure.

Take a look at Delacroix's The Death of Sardanapalus and Massacre at Chios.

It has all the qualities of the work of the 'orientalists', which I love.
Beautifully done - as ever, Marta.

I was finally able to open and read the .pdf and now I see the head is that of Holofernes. Thanks for the .pdf walkthrough and videos. The only thing that looks a little off is the perspective of the floor, but other than that it is an amazingly beautiful image.

It is stunning for sure!!!

However.... What is that man's head doing on the floor?

Beautifully executed, but also scary.

Stunning! Skin is amazing! Especially on her legs - so real. Overall it's a top quality work. You'll be on the art history book in the future for sure, just like old masters.
