"Journey to the Center of The Earth", Lagoon Reveal Concept Art., Raphael Lacoste (2D)

Title: "Journey to the Center of The Earth", Lagoon Reveal Concept Art.
Name: Raphael Lacoste
Country: Canada
Software: Photoshop

Hi there,

I did this concept more than a year ago for the movie "Journey to the center of the Earth 3D".
the challenge was to create a concept including a lot of different features for one of the main scenes, "The Lagoon Reveal, Center of the Earth".

The eyes had to be attracted by different locations in a main huge cave, and I had to create a feeling of an indoor world!
was pretty challenging, 3 weeks works including a lot of different concepts, this one is the final client approved.

hope you like!

As always gorgeouse work, fine colours, depth of space. May be it would be desirable even more deep and light in the end of an exit ,but because it is concept that all painting very strong.
If you continue this work you can rotated right part to the left a bit.But it is only my personal opinion
Great job!

actually I did a previous version with more fog, but the Director wanted to feel more the Indoor depth, so less haze...

Nice piece, but to me unreadable. My eyes just serching for leading 'thing' but I understand the idea. Maybe becouse of so much surfaces reflecting light, maybe detail, maybe I just know that you have much better, one of the best, previous works... but... finaly, great job.

Hello Raphael,

nice work on this one. Love the colour palette and lights. I don`t know why, but there is just something on the right side (midground) - I don`t know how to look on that side(waterfall etc..).. aaah forget Raphael.. you did really good job here
