Great job
but I would work more on the palnt at the bottom, to totaly chnges how all looks when my eyes go down, looks the photoshop magic wond tool effect, just paint overit untel it looks one with the top.

like the artwork , however the Naginata itself should possibly be a little longer haft wise , as it was in reality a polearm pls follow the link http://www.scnf.org/history2.html

the armour itself is great and i am not competent enough an artist to critise any thing about composition or technique
.

As i said I like it keep it up !

good work man, the armor is a bit stylised and unrealistic but it definitely helps sell the mystical look of the piece.

the weapon he is carrying is a nagamaki no doubt, the naginata was a polearm, usually a shorter katana blade mounted on the end of a staff, it should be noted that the staff end isn't rounded like a bo either but actually more oval like the grip of a sword, the same applies for the nagamaki as well which is exactly as pictured.

thats interesting only ever seen one picture of one before in a very old MA book

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am not an expert on martial art weapons, I guess I'll take your word for it They sended me the weapon pictures and I did exactly as they wanted.

Here's the weapon:



It looks like Nagamaki but they call it Naginata.
